Castings
Castings have excellent mechanical and physical properties, it can have a variety of different strength, toughness and hardness with comprehensive performance, also can have one or more special performance, such as wear resistance, high temperature and low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.
Casting weight and size range is very wide, only a few grams of weight lightest and the heaviest can reach 400 tons, the most thin wall thickness is only 0.5 mm, the thickness can be more than 1 m, length can be made of a few millimeters to several meters, can satisfy the use requirement of different industrial sectors.
Quality mainly includes the appearance quality, internal quality and use of the quality. Appearance quality refers to the casting surface roughness, surface defect, size deviation, deviation of shape, and weight deviation; Inner quality mainly refers to the chemical composition, physical properties, mechanical properties of castings, microstructure and exists in the casting internal hole, crack, inclusion, segregation, and so on and so forth; Use quality refers to the casting endurance ability to work under different conditions, including the wear-resisting, corrosion resistance, resistance to chilling induced fever, fatigue, shock absorption performance, and such as are cutting resistance, weldability and so on process performance.
Casting quality has a great influence on the performance of mechanical products. For example, the wear resistance and dimensional stability of machine tool castings, directly affect the precision of the machine tool to keep life. All kinds of pump and hydraulic parts of impeller, shell lumen size accuracy and surface roughness and contour line, directly affects the working efficiency of the pump and the hydraulic system, energy consumption and the development of the corrosion, etc.; Internal combustion engine cylinder block, cylinder head, cylinder liner, piston ring, the strength of the exhaust pipe and other casting and quench heat shock resistance, directly affects the working life of the engine.
